 People have lived in South Dakota for over 25,000 yrs. S.D. became a state in 1889 and

       its motto is Under God the people rule

Location

The laditude of my state is 45 degrees N, and the long. is 100 dergrees W.

There are exactly 4 states around S.D. there is Minnisota, Nebraska, Wyoming, and of course North Dakota!!!!

The Capital of S.D. is Peirre her are a few major cities Sioux Falls, Watertown, Rapid City, Brookings

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

There are not very many special landforms in S.D. but one of the most important is the Mount Rushmorewhich has 4 carved presidents heads...

During the winter S.D. can get up to 24-30in. of snow a yr! During the summer, tempturescan get up to 110 degrees F.

HUMAN CHARACTERISTICS:

There is mostly English in S.D., but there is VERY little Indian speaking language.

most of the people are afarmers and agriculture stuff.

S.D. has more agold and silver compared to other states around it, it is

a good place to learn abuot the Sioux tribe and the sitting bull.

IMPACT:

South Dakota had a lot of trees and wild life, in this state, but as

soon as the white peple came most of the wild was destroyed.  There are still wild life sources in S.D.
