Yo this is my page on OREGON....enjoy.....what am i saying i know you will.....

mann my state is oregon which get its name from the canadian-french word Ouragon which means "storm" or "hurricane" because when the canadian. they called it this because the canadians saw the enormous river they called this the river of storms

oregon was admitted in to statehoood on Febuary 14, 1859. the state bird of oregon is the western meadowlark. all the states tht border oregon is califonia, idaho, nevada, and washington. the oregon flag is the only state flag with different pictures on both sides. on the reverse side there is a beaver appears which is the state animal. both sides have a field of navy blue with design in gold.

the motto of oregon isalis volat propiis which means she flies with her own wings.the state flower of oregon is a oregon grape know as mahonia aquifolium aka berberis aquifolium. the lowest point in oregon is on the coast which is at see level and the highest piont is mount hood which is 11,239 feet. the largest city in oregon is portland home to the trialblazer who are a professional basketball team.

oregon has a cold football team who have a hiesman runner,dennis dixon 10, but sadly are not in the running for the BCS bowl or are not in the top 25 standings. other then just there athletics program the university of oregon has outstanding academic standards which make it one of the top schools in the country.

some of the great properties of oregon is the mountains and the great rivers, lakes and streams that make the state so beautiful. oregon is a great place to travel through and learn from its history and all the greatness of this state

oregon has been called a "white" state with at least 3 million people. 90% of the population is white, there are 147,000 hispanics, 86,000 asain americans, there is 51,000 afircan americans, and 45,500 native americans.
