Maine (The Pine Tree State)

Maine it is a beautiful state that was formed by a glacier.The first people

to live in maine were said to be known as the Red Paint People. They lived off of caribou,

 an animal related to the reindeer that once roamed the land in enormous heards. Later

the natives came in and they were the warful Micmacs,Brunswick,and the more plentyful

and peaceful Abnakis.

LOCATION:

It is exatly 45 north and 69 west. This state is located by the Atlantic ocean at the top part of the U.S and is by New Hampshaire. The captal of Maine is Augsta. The statebird is the Chickadee.                                                                                                                                 The statefloweris the White Pinecone and Tassel. Maine was the 23rd state to be adopted the date was March 15 ,1887. Some major cities are rockland, Norway.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

The white Mountians Region, Mt. Katahdin, Mt. Desert Island.

The ecosystems you would find are mostly coniferous forest and maybe a coral reef.

This state has warm summers and cold winters the average temp. is 43 deg. f . Maine gets an

averge of 40 inches a year.
