Leopold III of Belguim

About Me: Hello my name is Léopold-philippe-charles-albert-meinr Ad-hubertus-marie-miguel (french). I was born  on 3 November 1901 in Brussels as Prince Leopold of Belgium. I am the son of  Albert I and his consort Elisabeth of Bavaria. I was the king of the Belgians whose actions as commander in chief of the Belgian Army during the German conquest of Belgium in World War II

. I also fought as a private during World War I with the12th Belgian Regiment while still a teenager. After the war, in 1919, I enrolled first at Eton Kingdom in the UK, then at St. Anthony Seminary in Santa Barbera, California.  I married  Princess Astrid of Sweden in a civil ceremony in Stockholm on 4 November 1926, followed by a religious ceremony in  Brussels on 10 November. I had three children with the Princess. On 29 August 1935, while the King and Queen were driving along the winding, narrow roads on the shores of Lake Lucerne, I lost control of the car which plunged into the lake, killing Queen Astrid and her unborn fourth child.On September 11, 1941, I married Lilian Baels and had another three children.

My Heroes: My grandfather, Philip, Count of Flanders. He was the 1,033rd knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece in Spain in 1872 and the 70th grand cross of the Order of the Tower and Sword.
