Hey my name is William D Leahy. I was born in the wonderful city of Hampton, Iowa and then later moved to Ashland, Wisconsin. I went to the United States Naval Academy which I graduated from in 1897. I was assigned to the USS Oregon that was known for its famous dash around Cape Horn in 1898. I also served on the USS Castine, USS Glacier, and commanded on USS Mariveles. Those were some of the best years of my life. I love the sea and the sound of seagulls in the morning. I was staged in Panama during the early construction of the canal. In 1939 I became the Governor of Puerto Rico. When World War II started I was appointed Chief of Staff to the Commander in Chief or Mr. President. I am proud to say I opposed the use of the atomic bombs in Japan but President Truman thought otherwise. Oh Well. I was also an ambassador to Vichy France. France is one of my favorite countries to vacation in. Besides that here are some of my accomplishments!
