..The Great State of Indiana..

 

The name "Indiana" simply means "land of the Indians."  This refers to a large number of Indians that were located throughout the state when the first settlers to this state arrived

LOCATION:

Absolute Location - 40 Degrees North and 90 Degrees West

Relative Location -  Indiana is next to Ohio,kentucky,illinois and Michigan.

Capital and Major Cities-The major cities are Anderson,Richmond,Greensburg,

Columbus,Boolington, Terre Haute.Crawfordville and Frankfort.

 

 

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

The highest points in Indiana are Hoosier Hill, and Wayne Coumty(near Richmond

in east-central Indiana)-1,257 ft (383m) above sea level.

Some of my states ecoystems are temperate and deciduous forest.

 

 

 Indiana is one of the smallest states in area west of the Appalachian Mountains. Despite its size, the state's natural characteristics exhibit a sharp contrast north to south across its landscape

HUMAN CHARACTERISTICS:

Most peoplein Indiana speak english

In a typical year, almost half of all cropland in Indiana is planted in corn.

Indianas college is called university of Indiana,and Madison Media
