Emperor Hirohito 

About Me: 

My birthday is April 29, 1901. During my time as Prince of Japan I married my cousin Princess Nagako Kuni on January 26, 1924. With her I have two honorable sons, Crown Prince Akihito, who is set to succeed me eventually and become emperor, and Prince Masahito. Also, we have five daughters one of whom died as an infant. I was declared the emperor of Japan on December 25, 1926 on the day of my father Yoshihito's death. Even after receiving a telegram from Franklin Roosevelt himself I decided to bomb Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941 (exactly 51 years before Sarah's birthday) and now I am facing nuclear war with the United States.

Born to Crown Prince Yoshihto and Crown Princess Sadako, I became the apparent heir to the throne at the ripe old age of 11. My father Yoshihto became the emperor of Japan and I was headed for a priveleged lifestyle. Servants twenty-four seven, servants for the kitchen, servants for the living quarters and even servants for the washroom! I had it made. Born to be a leader, luxury is all I have known my entire life and it will be the only thing I know!

Today I was humbled by the Americans. With two major cities in ruins, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I have no choice but to surrender myself unconditionally. I can not risk another attack by the Americans. Luxury is the only thing I have known, so this scares me, but I am prepared to suffer as the commonfolk do for my country. As long as I don't really have to.

Hirohito's Obituary...

"Born the son of a prince, he was destined to take the throne from a young age upon the death of his grandfather in 1912; at the time Hirohito was eleven. From an early age his father, now Emperor Yoshihto, and mother, Empress Teimei, urged interactions between him and his future wife Nagako. Although his parents were married with Empress Teimei only being fifteen at the time, they instilled in him a strong since of family values. For this, he leaves behind his loving wife Princess Nagako (Empress Kojun) and four of five surviving children (the fifth having died at an early age). Hirohito was always a strong military leader and with the plans of Yamamoto Isoroku he accomplished the act that made his name eternal- the bombing at Pearl Harbor. Nevertheless, his people have trusted him through the years and even with the unconditional surrender of Japan to the United States and failure in World War 2 he remains a highly respected leader."
