About Me: Hallo!

I was born in Karlsruhe the son of a lawyer,and the middle child of another son and daughter. I joined the army in 1917, during World War 1. After the war I joined the Freikorps and the German Worker's Party in 1919, becoming one of the earliest members. 

I studied law and eventually rose to become Adolf Hitler's lawyer. As the Nazi's rose to power I served as their lawyer spending over $10,000 and representing over 2,400 cases. My work payed off (finally) and I was elected to the Reichstag in 1930.1933 brought more good news, I was appointed as the Minister of Justice for Bavaria, I know the people were lucky. I was also the head of the National Socialist Jurists Association and President of the Academy of German Law from 1933. I objected to extrajudicial killings, both at the Dachau Concentration Camp and during the Night of the Long Knives. So obviously when people said I was heartless they were wrong.

The war brought more titles to me. In September 1939 I was assigned as Chief of Administration to Gerd von Rundstedt in the General Government (GG). From October 6, 1939, following the invasion of Poland, I was the Governor-General of the General Government for the occupied Polish territories. I was granted the SS rank of Obergruppenuhrer. Sadly success was not to last forever. In 1942 I lost my positions of authority outside the G.G.after somewhat annoying Hitler with a series of speaches. A bit of an over reaction if you ask me.I claim that the extermination of the Jews was entirely controlled by Heinrich Himmler and the S.S. and that I was unaware of the extermination camps in the G.G. until early in 1944. Honest to blog I was. When I found out I tried to resign but Hitler wouldn't allow it. As a result I left, some call it fled the G.G. in advance of the Soviet Army in 1945.

That was the end of my military career.

I was captured by American troops May 3, 1945 in Baravia. I must say the troops were terribley rude and not at all accomidating. Why, I was beaten! Then I offered my diaries as proof of the evil the HItler was doing and they turned it against me.
